A new score for an abstract cubist animation from 1921

Symphonie Diagonale (Diagonal Symphony) is one of the earliest abstract films. Swedish-German artist Viking Eggeling produced several versions of Symphonie Diagonale between 1921 and 1925 in collaboration with dadaist Hans Richter.

This version and edit of the film features a new score composed and played by Bruce Willen, which was originally performed at the Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival in October 2019 in Baltimore, MD.
